Unconditional Love as a Spiritual Path
We explore the ancient tradition of universal love and how to apply it in daily life.
Unconditional love is not a fleeting feeling but a state of consciousness that can be cultivated. The great spiritual traditions — from Buddhism to Sufism — agree in placing it at the heart of the path.
An ancient tradition
Universal love meditation (mettā, in the Buddhist tradition) has a history of more than two and a half thousand years. It consists of directing sincere wishes of well-being first toward oneself, then toward loved ones, then toward strangers, and finally toward all beings.
Applying it in daily life
There is no need to retreat to a mountain. Every daily encounter is an opportunity: truly listening, forgiving a mistake, offering help without expecting anything in return. Unconditional love is trained in the small things.
In our Friday sessions we practice precisely this meditation. We await you with an open heart.
